Anyone who’s worked in hospitality knows the dangers of a rogue playlist - for me, Coldplay’s Parachutes album triggers a fight or flight response nearly 20 years on - but that’s another story.
The ‘Trouble’ is, poor playlists and the same songs on repeat have a detrimental effect on your employees' working environment, leading to playlist hijacking and unmotivated on-site teams. Background music plays a significant role in fostering employee satisfaction, reducing stress, and promoting productivity, all contributing to a higher employee retention rate. So how can we help?
1. Centralise music with the Soundtrack app and hardware devices
We partner with Soundtrack so your teams can view and move around playlists through the Soundtrack app on iOS, Android, iPad or computer, and even through SONOS. Or we’ll send you Soundtrack’s hardware player to use as your streaming device through one or multiple zones per location to legally play music whether your venue’s online or offline. With this centralised hardware, you can also ensure your sonic brand identity remains intact whilst controlling the degree to which your employees can control the volume and playlists based on the time of day and current atmosphere.
2. Play a staff-curated Jukebox
Whilst ‘Born in the U.S.A’ might not be the right fit for your brand identity, it might just be just the tonic for your team to start or end the day on a high note. Vellar Sound can set-up a custom Out of Hours Jukebox track-request system so your on-site team can enjoy (and sing along to) their favourite songs during pre- and post-closing hours, without impacting your brand identity or the customer experience.
- Fresh playlists every month
- Volume control for the perfect balance
- Optional expletive-free tracks for a professional environment
3. Listen to feedback
From the outset, we’ll provide your internal management and staff with information on how your audio identity is reflected in your playlists and take them through how to report and resolve technical issues with Soundtrack’s dedicated support team. We’ll also review playlist experience and provide an open line of communication for staff to let us know the music they love, hate or want to nominate, filtering through nominations to ensure track selections remain on-brand.
4. Avoid daily repeats
Every month, we refresh your playlists by adding up to 15% new songs depending on your needs and we guarantee your employees will never hear the same song twice over 3.5 trading days. We match our playlists to the mood of your trading rhythms as well as the season with strategic curation and evolve as you do.
